Abstract:
A METHOD OF DYEING, PRINTING OR OTHERWISE COLORING ACRYLONITRILE POLYMERS OR POLYVINYLIDENE DICYANIDES IN WHICH THERE IS ADDED THE POLYMER TO BE COLORED A BASIC DYE CONTAINING A FLAVYLIUM CATION. THE BASIC DYE CAN BE INCORPORATED DIRECTLY INTO A SOLUTION OF THE POLYMER OR CAN BE APPLIED TO THE POLYMER UNDER CONVENTIONAL CONDITIONS FOR DYEING OR PRINTING TEXTILE MATERIALS WITH BASIC DYES.
Abstract:
Reactive dyes which in the form of the free acids correspond to the general formula I where R1 is hydrogen, chlorine, bromine, methyl or hydroxysulfonyl, R2 is chlorine, bromine or phenyl, or is C1-C4-alkoxy which is unsubstituted or substituted by hydroxyl, C1-C4-alkoxy or phenoxy, or is phenoxy or naphthoxy which are unsubstituted or substituted by C1-C10-alkyl and X is fluorine, chlorine or bromine, are exceptionally suitable for dyeing hydroxyl-containing material, e.g. cellulose or leather.

1424886 Spiropyrans for copying processes BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 20 June 1973 [21 June 1972] 29228/73 Heading C4P [Also in Division D2] Spiropyrans have the formula in which R 1 is H, alkyl, cyanoalkyl, carboxyalkyl, methoxyalkyl or cycloalkyl each of 1 - 6C, and phenyl, R 2 is alkyl of 1 - 4C, A is a benzene nucleus opt. subs. by Me, Cl, Br, or alkoxy of from 1 - 4C, and B is a benzene or naphthalene nucleus opt. substd. by Cl, Br, nitro, C 1-5 alkyl, C 1-5 , alkoxy, di-(C 1-5 )-alkylamino or C 1-5 -alkoxy-substituted carbonyl. Some ten compounds are described. They are prepared by condensing the heterocyclic bases with o-hydroxybenzaldehydes or o-hydroxynaphthaldehydes in a cyclization reaction. The spiropyrans formed may be dissolved in non-polar or weakly polar solvents, and give intense red to blue colorations when acid substances, including kaolin and similar materials. The spiropyrans may be used as dye-forming components, possibly encapsulated, for pressure-sensitive recording materials, particularly copying papers.
Abstract:
A method of coating copper, brass, zinc, iron or steel or of bonding these metals to each other or to plastics materials using a mixture of an ethylene copolymer containing copolymerized units of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid and from 0.01 to 5 percent of the weight of said copolymer of a compound having the general formula:

1,150,010. Copper complexes of azo dyes. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK A.G. 30 Aug., 1966 [31 Aug., 1965], No. 38592/66. Heading C4P. The invention comprises compounds of the formula wherein X is a substituted or unsubstituted sulphonamide group which contains at least one reactive hydrogen atom, Y is H, halogen, nitro, acylamino or alkyl of 1-6 carbons atoms, R is acyl which may be substituted but which is free of halogenopyrimidyl radicals or halogenoalkanoyl radicals of 2 or 3 carbon atoms and n is 1 or 2. The compounds are prepared by treating a compound of the formula where Z is OH or a substituent convertible into OH, under the metallizing conditions, e.g. methoxy, hydrogen, carboxyl or halogen, with a coppering agent, e.g. CuSO 4 , CuCl 2 or [Cu (NH 3 ) 4 ]SO 4 .
