Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a tape cassette having high accuracy in tape traveling characteristic and capable of easily changing tapes even by an amateur by engaging a guide device with an accessible tape part. CONSTITUTION: The tape 18 is guided by a tape guide frame 56 and a guide roller 57 on both sides of a tape pressing element 58 respectively, and is stretched across a long notch 52 of a case 43, and hence a tape guide element of a casing 44 can reach behind the tape 18 through this notch. Consequently, the tape does not slip into the inside of the case 43, and this case is inserted into the casing 44 in a simple sequence. Thus, a very good condition for traveling the tape is obtained, and also hangling of the tape cassette is facilitated even for the amateur.
