Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for the hydroformylation of a compound having at least ethylenically unsaturated double bond. SOLUTION: The hydroformylation method uses at least one kind of a complex of a metal of VIII sub-group having at least one kind of a phosphorus- containing compound, which has two groups each having one P atom bonded to the respective phenyl rings of a molecular skeleton derived from bisphenol A, as a ligand.
