    Abstract: Synthetic polyamide fibres are dyed or printed by applying at a temperature below the absorption temperature of all the dyes present a composition which comprises a) at least one anionic dye b) at least one anionic assistant, c) at least one product obtained by separately adding 2-15 moles of propylene oxide or butylene oxide and 0-10 moles of ethylene oxide to 1 mole of an alkylphenol having 6-12 carbon atoms in the alkyl radical or of an aliphatic alcohol having 1-20 carbon atoms and d) at least one adduct of 1 - 2 moles of ethylene oxide to 1 mole of a hydroxy compound of the benzene or naphthalene series which may bear nonionic radicals as substituents on the aromatic nucleus and finishing the dyeing by steaming.
