R 1>6-40C alkyl or 3-40C alkenyl with 1-5 double bonds; R 2>H or Me; m, n : 0-10; R 3>H or 6-20C alkyl; R 4>H; M : alkali metal or NH 4. Independent claims are also included for: (1) absorbent materials finished as above; (2) aqueous liquors as above; (3) formulations comprising an organic polymer, a particulate solid, optionally an organic solvent, an emulsifier as above and 0-15 wt.% water.
