Abstract:
The invention comprises dyes of the formula where R is a methyl or ethyl group. They are prepared by reacting a compound of the formula where X is a halogen or nitro group with methylamine. The starting material may be prepared by reacting g -cyclohexylalkylamino-propylamine with the corresponding anthraquinone acid chloride or isotoic anhydride.
Abstract:
The invention comprises a method for the production of dye mixtures wherein a mixture of two or more aromatic o-dinitriles which differ by their substituents and/or by the aromatic radical is condensed with a 2-aminobenzimidazole, or aromatic o-dinitriles or mixtures thereof are condensed with a mixture of two or more different 2-aminobenzimidazoles, the o-dinitriles and the 2-aminobenzimidazoles being free from water-solubilizing groups, or two or more condensation products from a 2-aminobenzimidazole and an aromatic dinitrile which are different from each other are allowed to cocrystallize from a solvent. The dye mixtures thus obtained contain as components dyes of the formula wherein the components differ by their substitution or by their being substituted or unsubstituted in the moieties A, B and/or C. Preferred aromatic dinitriles are phthalodinitrile, 4 - methylphthalodinitrile, 4 - phenylphthalodinitrile; 4,5 - diphenylphthalodinitrile, 3 - nitrophthalodinitrile, 4 - nitrophthalodinitrile or naphthalene - 1,2 - dinitrile. Suitable 2-aminobenzimidazoles are 2-aminobenzimidazole, 1 - ethyl - 2 - aminobenzimidazole and 2 - amino - 4 - chlorobenzimimidazole. The dyes may be applied to polyamide, polyurethane and linear aromatic polyester materials. Examples are given for the preparation of several dyes.
