Abstract: Fillable, softener-containing aqueous polymer dispersion contains softener comprising at least one AB, ABA and/or BAB block copolymer with the blocks bonded either directly or via linking groups, where A is a hydrophobic or acidic block with a C-C main chain derived from (meth)acrylic acid and/or an aliphatic olefin or diene with 2-5C and B is a hydrophilic polyether block. Fillable, softener-containing aqueous dispersion of a polymer containing at least 30 wt.% monomers from 1-10C alkyl ester or nitrile of methacrylic and/or acrylic acid or the vinyl ester with a 2-12C monocarboxylic acid has a solids content of at least 20 wt.%. The softener is at least one AB, ABA and/or BAB block copolymer with the blocks bonded either directly or via linking groups, where A is a hydrophobic or acidic block with a C-C main chain derived from (meth)acrylic acid, 1-10C alkyl-(meth)acrylate, styrene, vinyl ester of a 2-12C monocarboxylic acid and/or an aliphatic olefin or diene with 2-5C and B is a hydrophilic polyether block derived from ethylene oxide (EO), propylene oxide (PO) and/or butylene oxide (BO).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing polymers by aqueous emulsion polymerization of ethylenically unsaturated monomers, comprising at least one hydrophobic monomer with a solubility in water below 0.01 g/l at 25 DEG C (1 atm) and optionally one or multiple copolymerizable monomers therewith. The method is characterized in that polymerization is carried out in the presence of a non-cyclical polysaccharide capable of forming an inclusion compound. The invention further relates to the polymers obtained by the inventive method as well as to the use of said polymers.
