    Abstract: An assembly to make a liquid made of ingredients including gas which may react with each other. The mixing chamber (1) is formed of a symmetrical outer mantle and two end walls (3, 5). Mixer paddles rotate within the chamber, driven by a motor. The novelty is that the mantle has a separate inlet (8, 9) for each ingredient and an outlet (10) for the mixing product; further that there is a flowpath between the two ends walls (3, 5) formed by a circular passage (17). USE/ADVANTAGE - The unit mixes ingredients including gas which may react together. The mixer is of simple construction and makes a very homogenous and stable produce with steady output.

    Abstract: Process wherein trimethylphenol is oxidised with oxygen or an oxygen-containing gas in the presence of a catalyst which contains a copper(II) halide in a two-phase reaction medium consisting of water and an aliphatic alcohol at high temperature, characterised in that the reaction is performed in a mixture of water and a saturated aliphatic alcohol with 12 to 18 C-atoms and a flash point above 120 DEG C, such as 1-dodecanol, 1-tetradecanol, 1-hexadecanol or 1-octadecanol, especially 1-dodecanol, and at temperatures between 60 and 100 DEG C. … Particularly good yields of TMBQ are obtained when the reaction is performed in the presence of a copper(II) halide, such as CuCl2 or CuBr2, and an alkaline earth metal halide, especially CaCl2 or MgCl2, or an alkali metal halide, especially LiCl and NaCl, as catalyst system.

    Abstract: A process for removing unwanted odours from mixtures of fatty acid esters which, besides other components, contain the esters of highly unsaturated fatty acids, especially of highly unsaturated omega -3-fatty acids, such as eicosapentaenoic acid or docosahexaenoic acid, is characterised in that the mixture of fatty acid esters is treated with complex hydrides, in particular with sodium borohydride solution. The process is particularly suitable for removing unwanted odours from mixtures of fatty acid esters which have been obtained from fish oil, for example from fish oil by transesterification with alkanols with 1 to 3 C atoms.
