Abstract: The invention relates to moisture-curing, one-component polyurethane systems with a long shelf life which contain A) a polyurethane prepolymer having an NCO content of from 1 to 5% by weight, B) a dialdimine of the formula R &lparstr& N=CH-C(CH3)2-CH2-O-CO-CH2-CH-(CH3)2 in which R is an alkylene radical having 2 to 10 carbon atoms, an alkylene radical having 4 to 10 carbon atoms and containing oxygen and/or N-alkyl group as bridging member, a cycloalkylene radical having 6 to 15 carbon atoms or an arylene radical having 6 to 21 carbon atoms, and C) an aromatic and/or aliphatic carboxylic acid or toluene sulphonic acid. The polyurethane systems are used as coating compositions, sealants, encapsulating (embedding) compounds, knifing fillers (stoppers, surfaces) and adhesives.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the preparation of optionally foamed polyurethanes by reacting organic polyisocyanates with relatively high-molecular-weight organic polyhydroxyl compounds in the presence of guanidines and/or thioureas of the formula in which X is sulphur or an =NH group, and n is a number from 2 to 6, as catalyst and optionally blowing agents, chain extenders, assistants and additives.

Abstract: To prepare light-stable polyurethane integral skin foams, especially soft integral foams, aliphatic and/or cycloaliphatic polyisocyanates, both categories preferably containing urethane groups and/or biuret groups, are reacted with polyols in the presence of blowing agents and of a synergistic catalyst combination comprising an alkali metal hydroxide, alkali metal alcoholate, alkali metal phenolate, alkali metal salt of a weak acid and/or hexahydrotriazine derivative and an organic tin, zinc and/or iron(II) compound, in the presence or absence of assistants and adjuvants. The preferred catalyst combination is tri-(dimethylaminopropyl)-s-hexahydrotriazine and dibutyl-tin dilaurate.

Abstract: 1. A process for the manufacture of dimensionally stable polyurethane foams by releasing, and curing by interaction with the atmosphere preferably with atmospheric moisture, a storage-stable mixture, which contains blowing agents and is under pressure, of prepolymers which contain isocyanate groups and are based on polyols and organic polyisocyanates, wherein the polyols used are difunctional to octafunctional polyester-polyols and/or polyether-polyols which have a hydroxyl number of from 40 to 500 and contain chemically bonded tertiary amino groups in the polymer chain, or mixtures of such polyester-polyols and/or polyeter-polyols, containing tertiary amino groups, with nitrogen-free polyester-polyols and/or polyether-polyols.

Abstract: Particles are used as foamed continuous filaments having dia. 0.3-10 mm or as staple fibres, having length 1-30 cm and dia. 0.3-10 mm, in foamed article prodn. by heating and compressing foamed particles of a cross-linked olefine-, vinyl chloride or styrene polymer or polyester. Uses include bath mats, carpet backings, packaging, upholstery and cushions. Articles have improved resiliency and lower crushing strain compared with articles prepd. by using particles in other forms, e.g. as pellets.
