Abstract: Process for the production of sandwich panels using semi-finished products made of high-performance composites with polymeric matrices, characterised in that the cut-to-size semi-finished product, comprising polymeric outer layers and the core material, is heated between two heating plates of a resistance heating system, is subsequently pressed and cooled.

Abstract: A multi-layer plate is made of a core layer (A) with a honeycomb structure or foam, at least one cover layer (C) of fibre-reinforced thermoplastic material, which have been joined by an adhesive (B), compatible with the plastic of layer (C). The layer (A) is made e.g. of plastic-coated paper NOMEX (RTM), 8.8mm thick. The adhesive (B) is made of polysulphone ULTRASON (RTM) and the cover layer (C) of polyethersulphone, polyetherketone,

Abstract: Two profile halves (7) or an open profile of plastic-impregnated fibrous structures, so-called prepregs, coming for example directly from their moulding process, are fed to a device (10) in which they are processed by joining together and/or shaping by means of pairs of rolls (11, 12) to form closed profiles, hollow profiles (15).

Abstract: For producing moulded fibre-reinforced plastic articles, fibre material in the form of fibre strands, bundles, woven or laid fabrics is impregnated with the heat-curable plastic, transformed into a laminate in web form and, if required, cut to length in strips. A plurality of these laminate strips are compressed in a compression mould, forming the moulded article, and cured by appropriate application of heat. For the purpose of reducing the curing time and for improved quality of the moulded articles, before the laminate strips are introduced into the compression mould they are heated in a high-frequency field to a temperature about 0 to about 100 DEG C below the temperature at which crosslinking of the plastic commences.
