Abstract: Moulding materials (M) comprise (I) 30-100 wt.% of a mixt. of (A) at least 99.98 wt.% polyarylene ether sulphone formed from (A1) 0-100 mol.% units of formula (IA1) and/or (A2) 0-100 mol.% units of formula (IA2), and (B) up to 0.02 wt.% one or more aliphatic solvents; (II) 0-70 wt.% fibrous and/or particulate fillers; (III) 0-20 wt.% other additives and/or processing aids resulting from a base catalysed polycondensation reaction of the corresp. aromatic hydroxy- and halogen-substd. monomers in the presence of (B) followed by sepn. of (B), whereby the polycondensate ppts. by evapn., and/or extn., until the desired content of (B), prior to the first melting step is obtd. USE/ADVANTAGE - (M) are useful for the prodn. of moulded articles, sheets and fibres particularly for so-called visible components, e.g., equipment housings or wall coverings in vehicles or for household articles such as food packaging, electrical or electronic equipment or for medical use.
