Abstract: The cylinder (1) containing the extinguishing agent under gas pressure has a pressure gauge assembly (2) to which a standard fusible link sprinkler head (7) is connected via an adaptor fitting (6) containing a pressure switch (8). The pressure gauge is also connected to a handle (3) with a valve operating lever (4). The handle has an opening (5) in its grip part and a similar opening is provided in the operating lever. The extinguishers are ready for use when the lever is pressed down, the two openings coincide and the lever puts the valve into the open operating position. In this condition the lever is locked by a pin through the two openings. The fusible link melts due to a fire releasing the extinguishing agent. At the same time the pressure switch reacts to the pressure drop and triggers the alarm system.
