    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyisocyanate useful as a building block made of polyurethane and combining high functionality, high reactivity, low consistency and good properties. SOLUTION: (i) An addition product A is produced by reacting a diisocyanate or a polyisocyanate I with a compound having three or more groups reactive to the isocyanate, a compound having two groups reactive thereto or the mixture of the compounds. A reaction ratio is selected so that the product A containing an average of one group having reactivity to the isocyanate. (ii) A polyaddition product P containing an average of one group having reactivity to the isocyanate and an average of more than two isocyanate groups is formed by an intermolecular addition product. (iii) The high functional polyisocyanate is obtained by reacting the product A and/or the product P with a diisocyanate or a polyisocyanate II.

    Abstract: Finely-divided homopolymers or copolymers of C2H4 with minor amts. of 3-6C alpha-monoalkene are produced by polymerisation at 30-150 deg.C and 1-200 bar, using a Ziegler catalyst system. This consists of: (1) a catalyst component contg. Ti, which is (1.1) a ppte. prepd. by adding (1.1.1) a 0.1-10M TiCl4 soln. in a liquid 5-10C satd. aliphatic and/or aromatic hydrocarbon (I), (1.1.2) a 0.1-10M soln. of an organo-Al cpd. (II) of the formula RnAlCl3-n (n = 1.5-3; R = 1-12C alkyl) in (I) and (1.1.3) a 2-8C alpha-monoalkene (III) to an organic liquid (IV) and stirring vigorously to form a ppte.; and (2) a catalyst component contg. Al, which is a tri-1-12C-alkyl-Al, such that the atomic ratio of Ti in (1) to Al in (2) = 1:1-1:200. Pptn. is carried out at -30 to +30 deg.C in (IV) having a viscosity of 1.5-30 mm2/s at the pptn. temp., which consists of (I) and a relatively small amt. of dissolved 2-6C alpha-monoalkene polymer; the amts. used are 2-20 l (I), a total of 0.505 mole (II) and a total of 5-500 mole (III) per mole TiCl4; the rate of pptn. is 0.002-0.15 mole/min. and the rate of addn. of (IV) 0.02-1 mole/min. per mole total TiCl4 used; and the ppte. from (1.1) in (IV) is mixed well with a 0.1-10M soln. of an organo-Li cpd. of the formula LiR (R = 1-12C alkyl) in (I) in an amt. of 0.1-20 mole LiR/mole Ti for 0.5-12 hrs. at -10 to +60 deg.C and the resultant solid phase prod. is used as Ti-contg. component (1).
