Abstract: The foam has the following properties. Density 5-1000 kg/m 3>, mean pore diameter 1mu m - 1 mm, a BET surface area of 0.1-50 m 2>/g and sound absorption exceeding 50% at a frequency of 2000 Hz at a layer thickness of 50 mm. It contains 1-4000 ppm, related to the weight of the unmodified open cell foam, of fixed particles (b) with a mean diameter (numerical mean) of 5 nm to 900 nm. An independent claim is included for the method of manufacturing the corresponding foam.
