Abstract: 4,5-methano-bufadienolide-rhamnosides of the formula I I where R1 is hydrogen or alkyl or acyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R2 and R3 are identical or different and each is hydrogen or alkyl or acyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or both together are where R4 and R5 are identical or different and each is hydrogen or alkyl or alkoxy of 1 or 2 carbon atoms. The novel compounds may be used for counteracting cardiac insufficiency.
