    Abstract: 1420692 Magnetic recording tape BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 27 April 1973 [28 April 1972] 20074/73 Heading B2E A thermostable rigid base plated with a firmly adhering film of ferromagnetic metallic material containing cobalt has applied thereto a layer from a solution of at least one film-forming organic coating resin in a volatile solvent, the layer in dried and unbaked condition being not more than 3000A thick, and drying and baking being effected at 200-300‹C for 1-15 hours. Specified resins are polycarbonates, polyurethanes, acrylic polymers, polyglycidal ethers and esters cured with polyamines and polyaminoamides and phenol-amine resins. The ferromagnetic metal may be Co-P, Co-B, Co- Ni, Co-Fe-Ni alloys. Ketones, ethers and hydrocarbons are typical volatile solvents.

    Abstract: O.Z.0050/034495 of the disclosure: A process for the preparation of zeolites of the ZSM-5 structural type from a mixture of SiO2 and Al(OH)3 by hydrothermal crystallization in an aqueous amine solution, in the absence of alkali, at from 100 to 200.degree.C, wherein the crystallization is carried out in the presence of a triamine, tetraamine and/or higher amine and the reaction mixture is formulated to have an SiO2/Al2O3 molar ratio defined by an equation which involves the chain length and number of amine groups of the amine employed, as well as to have certain molar ratios of H2O/amine and amine/Al2O3, and the use of these zeolites as catalysts for the conversion of alcohols and/or dialkyl ethers to olefins and/or aromatics.

    Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a crystalline SiO2-modification, which is characterized by an X-ray diffraction diagram having certain diffraction lines, and with a process for the preparation of this crystalline SiO2-modifi-cation. This process is achieved by heating a mixture of a reactive amorphous SiO2 in an aqueous solution of hexamethylenediamine at a temperature of from 100.degree. to 200.degree.C for from 0.5 to 50 days, to effect crystallization of the SiO2 to the crystalline SiO2-modification. Sodium ions, phosphate ions and /or sulfate ions may be added for the crystallization. With the novel process it is possible to prepare new , high-grade absorbents which have a definite pore size and are therefore particularly suitable for the selective separation of organic components from solvents.

    Abstract: 1,164,375. Redox catalysts for diene polymerization. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODAFABRIK A.G. 20 Jan., 1967 [22 Jan., 1966] No. 3132/67. Heading C3P. A 1,3-diene or a monomer mixture containing a 1,3-diene is polymerized in aqueous emulsion using a redox catalyst of at least two components, wherein each component of the catalyst system is soluble in the monomer or monomer mixture to an amount of at least 1 % under polymerization conditions, one of the components comprising a butadiene sulphone. Suitable peroxides include cumene hydroperoxide, pinene hydroperoxide, benzoyl peroxide, p, p 1 -dinitrobenzoyl peroxide, lauroyl peroxide, diethyl-, ditertiary butyl- and ditolyl peroxycarbonate, ethyl α-methoxy peroxyacetate, 3 - phenyl - 3 - tert. - butyl peroxyphthalide, and γ-tertiary butyl peroxyvalerolactone.
