Abstract: The invention comprises tetrazaporphin sulphonic acid amides to the nitrogen atom of which there are attached one or two ether radicals of the formula-X-O-Y in which X is an alkylene radical and Y is an alkyl or cycloalkyl radical, and a process for making them by reacting a tetrazaporphin sulphonic acid chloride with an amine to the nitrogen atom of which there are attached at least one hydrogen atom and one or two ether radicals of the formula -X-O-Y. The amines include those having one ether radical, one hydrogen atom and an alkyl group attached to the nitrogen. The tetrazaporphins include metal-free or metal phthalocyanines. The compounds are dyestuffs which colour organic liquids, lacquers, stains, metal foils, natural or synthetic resins, which spin-dye celluloid, cellulose esters or ethers or polyester resins and may be used in off-set printing.
