Abstract: A process for removing oligomer deposits from dyed and non-dyed textile materials which consist of polyester fibers or of blends of these fibers with other fibers, and from dyeing machinery, by a treatment with an aqueous, alkaline liquor which contains from 0.1 to 10 g/l of a quaternary ammonium compound carrying not less than two C6-C22-alkyl or -alkenyl groups on the quaternary nitrogen, at up to 100 DEG C. The oligomers are hydrolyzed and are removed together with the treatment liquor.

Abstract: In the washing-out of unfixed reactive dyes from cellulose fibres or their blends with other fibres, by aq. baths of 15-100 degrees C, an alkoxylated polyamine and with cloud point of a 1% aq. soln. of 18 degrees C min. is used. This is made by reaction of 100 parts amine with at least 2N atoms and at least one alkoxylatable gp. in an N atom, with 50-10000 parts of (a) ethylene oxide, and (b) propylene oxide or butylene oxide, or mixts. of (a) and (b) in molar ratio 0.2-5:1. Washing efficiency is improved over that of known nontoxic surfactants, resulting in better wash-fastness of the dyed prod.

Abstract: Polyester fibres or their mixts. with other fibres are dyed at over 130 degrees C, with addn. to the dye bath of at least one phthalate diester of a 6-20C aliphatic or araliphatic alcohol in emulsion form. Deposition of polyester oligomer as a powder on the fibre or on the equipment walls is prevented without reducing stability of the dye bath. In partic. ester of 8-15 C alcohols are used, in amount of 0.05-0.4 (0.1-0.3)% of the dye bath. They are emulsified using mixts. of anionic and non-ionic surfactants. The former is pref. an alkali or NH4 salt of a sulphate semi-ester of a 12-18 C alcohol or alkyl phenol reacted with 2-4 mols. ethylene oxide. The latter is pref. a 12-18 C fatty acid reacted with 5-50 mols. ethylene oxide (esp. on oleic acid deriv.), or castor oil reacted with 5-20 mols ethylene oxide per OH gp.

Abstract: A process for dyeing polyester fibers which do not require a carrier with disperse dyes by the exhaustion method at 20 DEG -100 DEG C. and pH 4-6, with liquor ratios of from 5:1 to 100:1, and dyeing times of from 30 to 180 minutes, wherein the dyeing is carried out in the presence of from 0.5 to 20%, based on fiber weight, of a leveling agent consisting of an adduct of a C5-C14-alkylphenol or C5-C14-alkylnaphthol with from 4 to 25 moles of ethylene oxide.
