Abstract: Process for the hydroformylation of compounds containing ethylenically unsaturated double bond are hydroformylated by reacting with carbon monoxide and hydrogen in the presence of hydroformylation catalyst. Process for the hydroformylation of compounds containing ethylenically unsaturated double bond are hydroformylated by reacting with carbon monoxide and hydrogen in the presence of hydroformylation catalyst that comprises at least one complex of a metal transition group VIII with ligand(s) from compounds of formula (I). [Image] A1>O, S, NRc>, SiRd>Re> or CRf>Rg>; Rc>-Rg>H, (cyclo) alkyl, heterocycloalkyl, aryl or hetaryl, where Rf> and Rg> together with carbon atom to which they are bound may form 3-8-membered carbocycle or heterocycle which may additionally be fused with 1, 2 or 3 cycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, aryl and/or hetaryl; Y1>, Y2>radicals containing phosphorus atom(s); Ra>, Rb>H, (cyclo)alkyl, heterocycloalkyl, aryl, hetaryl or (CHRi>CH2O)xRh>; Rh>H, (cyclo)alkyl or aryl; Ri>H, Me or Et; x : 1-120; R1>-R6>H, (cyclo)alkyl, heterocycloalkyl, aryl, hetaryl, COORh>, COO-M+>, SO3Rh>, (SO3)->M+>, NE1>E2>, NE1>E2>E3>+>X->, alkylene-NE1>E2>E3>+>X->, ORh>, SRh>, (CHRi>CH2O)xRh>, (CH2N(E1>))xRh>, (CH2CH2N(E1>))xRh>, halo, trifluoromethyl, nitro, acyl or cyano; Rh>, E1>, E1>, E3>H, (cyclo)alkyl) or aryl; Ri>H, Me or Et; M+>cation; X->anion; and R1> and R2> and/or R3> and R4>together with the adjacent carbon atoms of the benzene ring to which they are bound to form a fused ring system comprising 1,2, or 3 rings. Independent claims are included for: (1) a compound of formula (I); and (2) a catalyst comprising complex(es) of a metal transition group VIII with ligand(s) of formula (I).
