Abstract: Aqueous coolant with good corrosion inhibition comprises a phthalic acid monoamide ammonium salt. Aqueous coolant comprises a phthalic acid monoamide ammonium salt of formula (I); R1 and R2 = H or 1-20C alkyl; and A+ = ammonium cation. Independent claims are included for: (1) a cooler protectant concentrate comprising (I); and (2) the use of (I) in aqueous coolants for combustion motors.
