Abstract:
The invention relates to an aqueous resin composition, comprising, in addition to water, a resin content in the range of from 65 to 80 % by weight, based on the aqueous resin composition. The resin is obtainable from melamine and formaldehyde and optionally at least one additive, and the aqueous resin composition has a viscosity ranging from 100 to 3000 mPas at 20 DEG C. The invention further relates to a method for producing the resin composition, to a composite containing said composition, to an impregnating resin dispersion, and to a method for producing the same. The invention also relates to the storage and use of said resin composition and impregnating resin dispersion.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an aqueous melamine resin mixture with a resin content in the range of 50 to 70 wt. %, based on the aqueous melamine resin mixture, with melamine and formaldehyde present in the resin in a molar ratio of 1:3 to 1:1 and the resin contains 1 to 10 wt. % polyvalent alcohols, 0 to 8 wt. % caprolactam and 0.5 to 10 wt. % 2-(2-phenoxyethoxy)-ethanol and/or polyethylene glycol with an average molecular mass of 200 to 1500 each based on the aqueous melamine resin mixture. The invention further relates to a method for production of said melamine resin mixtures and use thereof for the impregnation of absorbent support materials and a composite material made from the melamine resin mixture and the support material.
Abstract:
Aqueous melamine resin mixture (I) comprises a resin content (50-70 wt.% based on (I)) comprising polyvalent alcohols (a) (1-10 wt.%), caprolactam (b) (0-8 wt.%) and 2-(2-phenoxy-ethoxy)-ethanol (c) (0.5-10 wt.%) and/or polyethylene glycol (d) with an average molecular weight of 200-1500, respectively based on (I); where the molar ratio of melamine and formaldehyde present in the resin is 1:3-1:1. Independent claims are also included for the preparation of (I) comprising converting (I) in a pH of 8-10 at 60-160[deg]C; and a composite material obtained by thermal treatment of (I) with a support material.
Abstract:
Aqueous resin compositions (I) with a viscosity of 100-3000 mPa.s at 20 deg C, containing 65-80 wt% of a resin obtained from melamine (M), formaldehyde (F) and optional additive(s). Independent claims are also included for (a) a process for the production of (I) by mixing the above starting materials in an aqueous condensation phase, heating until the phase is transparent and then removing water until the product has the required resin content and viscosity; (b) composites containing (I) after thermal treatment, plus a carrier material; (c) a process for the production of these composites by bringing (I) and the carrier material into contact with one another at 60-300 deg C; (d) composites obtained by process (c); (e) a process for the production of a stable impregnating resin dispersion by dispersing (I) with small particles.
