    Abstract: A method for cooling dispersions or liquids (D/L) after a deodorising process comprising (a) passing steam through the D/L in a boiler (1), causing it to foam, (b) taking the foam from the top of the boiler into an evacuated separator (4) through a jet (5) and thus breaking the foam, (c) condensing the water vapour from the foam in a heat exchanger (8) and removing organic volatiles, and (d) returning the broken foam to (1). This process is continued until the D/L is deodorised to the required extent, then the hot D/L is cooled by transferring it from the bottom of (1) to the evacuated separator (4) via jet (5), the water vapour produced is condensed in (8) as before, and the cooled D/L is taken off at the bottom of (4).

    Abstract: Joint purification in a wash column using a washing liquid of waste gases and/or vapours formed in the production of inorganic fertilisers comprises supplying the waste gases and/or vapours to the wash column in at least two separate streams. One of the gas streams is preferably a collective waste gas stream containing the waste gases and/or vapours having a high water content and a high proportion of ammonia (NH3) and where another of the streams is a collective waste gas stream from granulation and drying having a low water content and a low content of ammonia (NH3). The separate streams are distributed using individual distributor systems under fittings in the wash column, the granulation and drying gas stream being distributed above the first stream in the wash column. The wash column (VII) is filled with filling or packing materials (VIIA) and 2 or more separate collective waste gases supply lines connected to separate distributors (IX, X) below the filling in the wash column.

    Abstract: Symmetrical dialkylureas are obtained by reaction of carbon dioxide with excess monoalkylamines at elevated temperatures and pressures in a reaction zone and expelling a part of the unreacted starting substances and the water formed in the reaction by releasing the pressure of the reaction melt obtained in the reaction. The alkylamine alkylcarbamate contained in the reaction melt is then thermally decomposed into monoalkylamine and carbon dioxide, which are expelled from the melt together with further water vapour. The vapours expelled during the pressure release and thermal decomposition are condensed and treated with sodium hydroxide solution to recover monoalkylamine. According to the invention the vapours expelled during the pressure release are washed in a separating column with a part of the liquefied monoalkylamine contained in the vapours and liquefied at the top of the separating column. The other part of the liquefied, virtually CO2- and water-free monoalkylamine is fed back into the reaction zone.
