Abstract: Use of redispersible polymer powders or granules as binders for preparing solid compositions, where the powders or granules comprise: (a) 10-95 wt.% polyvinyl acetate; (b) 5-90 wt.% of a N-vinylpyrrolidone polymer; (c) 0-20 wt.% of another water-soluble or water-swellable material; (d) 0-20 wt.% of a water-insoluble dusting agent; and optionally (e) further additives, and where the proportion of the binder in the dosage form is 0.5-20 wt.%. Also claimed are solid compositions with a binder comprising components (a)-(e) in the amounts specified above, where the binder makes up 0.5-20% of the total.
