    Abstract: A cosmetic composition is claimed which contains a sulphonate group-containing polyamide obtained from (a) a 2-18C diamine(preferably 50mol.%); (b) a sulphonate group-containing 4-12C dicarboxylic acid (preferably 0.5-49.5mol.%); and optionally (c) a further 2-16C dicarboxylic acid (preferably 0.5-49.5mol.%). Also claimed are compositions in which the sulphonate group-containing polyamide is obtained from 0-19.9 (preferably 0-10) mol.% 2-12C monoaminocarboxylic acid and/or its lactam, 40.05-50 (preferably 45-50) mol.% (a), 0.5-49.5 (preferably 5-35) mol.% (b) and 0.5-49.5 (preferably 15-45) mol.% (c).

    Abstract: Hard capsules contain: (A) polymer obtained by radical polymerization of at least one 1-24C carboxylic acid vinyl ester (a) in presence of a polyether compound (b) and optionally comonomer(s) (c), followed by at least partial saponification of the ester residues in the obtained copolymer; (B) optional structure-improving auxiliaries; and (C) further conventional components. Hard capsules contain: (A) polymer obtained by radical polymerization of at least one 1-24C carboxylic acid vinyl ester (a) in presence of a polyether compound (b) and optionally comonomer(s) (c) (provided that if comonomers (c) are absent then polyether (b) has number average molecular weight of 10000 or less), followed by at least partial saponification of the ester residues in the obtained copolymer; (B) optional structure-improving auxiliaries; and (C) further conventional components. An Independent claim is included for the use of the polymers (A) for the preparation of hard capsules as above, provided that if (c) are absent, then (b) has number average molecular weight 300-10000.

    Abstract: Polyurea (I) (obtained from a diamine, at least a amino containing or hydroxy containing polysiloxane, at least a diisocyanate, optionally a di-, tri- or tetraamine or polyamine (containing at least a ionogenic group), and optionally one or more diamine with a molecular weight of 6056-6000 g/mol) comprising at least an ionogenic or ionic group, is new. Polyurea (I) (obtained from a diamine comprising a group of formula -(-CH2CH2O-)n-(C3H6-O-)m, where the sequence of the alkylene oxide units is desired, at least a amino containing or hydroxy containing polysiloxane, at least a diisocyanate, optionally a di-, tri- or tetraamine or polyamine (containing at least an ionogenic group), and optionally one or more diamine with a molecular weight of 6056-6000 g/mol) comprising at least an ionogenic or ionic group, is new. Either m, n : 0-50; or m+n : 5-60. Independent claims are also included for: (1) the preparation of (I); (2) a cosmetic and/or pharmaceutical agent comprising (I); and (3) a hair treatment agent comprising (I) (0.5-20 %, by weight), solvent (50-99.5 %, by weight), propellant (0-70 %, by weight), conventional hair polymer (0-10 %, by weight), water-soluble or dispersible silicone compound (0-0.5 %, by weight), tenside (0-40 %, by weight), emulsifiers (0-5 %, by weight), salts (0-3 %, by weight) and thickeners (0-3 %, by weight).

    Abstract: The use of N-vinyl-pyrrolidone (NVP) copolymers (I) is claimed as surfactants in formulations of water-insoluble materials (II). (I) is derived from (a) 60-99 mol.% NVP, (b) 1-40 mol.% of one or more monomer(s) selected from (b1) 8-30C alkyl esters of mono-ethylenically unsaturated 3-8C carboxylic acids, (b2) N-(8-18C alkyl)- or N,N-di-(8-18C alkyl)-substituted (meth)acrylamides and (b3) vinyl esters of 8-30C aliphatic carboxylic acids and (c) 0-39 mol.% of further radically copolymerisable monomers. The (II) formulations containing (I) as surfactant are also claimed.
