The invention relates to a hardenable composition of epoxy resins, reactive thinning agents containing epoxy groups and the hardener 2,2',6,6'-tettramethyl-4,4'-methylene-bis(cyclohexylamine), the hardening of the composition and the thus obtained hardened epoxy resin, in addition to the corresponding use of 2,2',6,6'-tetramethyl-4,4'-methylene-bis(cyclohexylamine) as a hardener for epoxy resins in hardenable compositions with reactive thinning agents containing epoxy groups.

The present invention relates to a process for preparing a cyclic diamine, comprising the reaction of at least one cyclic alkene with a gas mixture (G) comprising dinitrogen monoxide to give at least one cyclic ketone and the subsequent conversion of the at least one cyclic ketone to a cyclic diamine. The invention also relates to the use of a cyclic diamine with primary and secondary amine functions thus obtained to prepare polyamides and polyurethanes.

Processes for preparing a xylylenediamine by continuous hydrogenation, wherein the processes comprise: introducing a liquid circulation stream comprising a phthalonitrile and ammonia into a reactor to continuously hydrogenate the phthalonitrile in the presence of a heterogenous catalyst and the ammonia such that a reactor effluent comprising the xylylenediamine is formed; drawing off a portion of the reactor effluent to provide a first recycle stream; mixing at least a portion of the first recycle stream in a mixing unit with liquid ammonia and fresh phthalonitrile in solid or molten form to provide a second recycle stream; and recycling the second recycle stream to the liquid circulation stream, or wherein the second recycle stream and any remaining unmixed portion of the first recycle stream are both recycled to the liquid circulation stream.

The invention relates to a method for producing triethylenetetramine (TETA), comprising the following steps: a) ethylenediamine (EDA) is reacted with formaldehyde and hydrogen cyanide (HCN), the molar ratio of EDA to formaldehyde to HCN being between 1 : 1.5 : 1.5 and 1 : 2 : 2 [mol/mol/mol], to obtain ethylenediamine diacetonitrile (EDDN); b) the EDDN obtained in step a) is hydrogenated in the presence of a catalyst and a solvent.

The invention relates to 3-aminomethyl-1-cyclohexylamine and a method for the production thereof by a) reacting cyclohexenone with hydrogen cyanide in the presence of a basic catalyst, b) reacting the cyclohexanone nitrile obtained in step a) with ammonia in the presence of an imine-forming catalyst, and c) reacting the reaction mixture that is obtained in step b) and contains 3-cyanocyclohexylimine with hydrogen and ammonia on hydrogenation catalysts. The invention further relates to the use of 3-aminomethyl-1-cyclohexylamine as a curing agent for epoxy resins, as an intermediate product when producing diisocyanates, as an initiator entity when producing polyetherols, and/or as a monomer for producing polyamides.
