Abstract: Un proceso para la pasivación de superficies metálicas mediante tratamiento de la superficie con una preparación acuosa ácida que comprende al menos un polímero X soluble en agua que comprende grupos ácidos y al menos un ión de metal, caracterizado porque ¿ el polímero tiene al menos 0,6 mol de grupos ácidos /100 g del polímero, ¿ el pH de la formulación no es mayor de 5, ¿ la cantidad del polímero es de 1 hasta 40% en peso, con base en la cantidad de todos los componentes de la formulación, ¿ el ión de metal es al menos uno seleccionado del grupo que consiste en Zn2+, Ca2+, Mg2+ y Al3+, y ¿ la cantidad de iones metálicos es de 0,01 % en peso hasta 25% en peso, con base en la cantidad total de todos los polímeros X.
