Abstract: Disclosed is a continuous method for treating the surface of metal strips. In said method, a surface property-modifying layer having a maximum thickness of 3 µm is applied by means of a device comprising at least one Fourier transform IR spectrometer which faces a coated side of the strip, operates using reflection geometry, and records IR spectroscopic measurement data of the applied surface property-modifying layer while the metal strip advances in order to characterize the surface.

Abstract: Procedimiento para la pasivación de una superficie metálica, en el que una superficie metálica se pone en contacto con una composición acuosa que contiene los siguientes componentes: a) al menos un polímero (X) soluble en agua, que comprende grupos ácidos, presentando el polímero (X) al menos 0,6 mol de grupos ácido/100 g de polímero; b) al menos un tensioactivo de fórmula general (T1) en la que Ra es un resto alquilo ramificado o lineal con 8 a 18 átomos de carbono, x es un número entero de 2 a 12, y es un número entero de 1 a 10, Rb es hidrógeno o un resto alquilo ramificado o lineal con 1 a 4 átomos de carbono, Rc es hidrógeno o un resto alquilo ramificado o lineal con 1 a 4 átomos de carbono, con la condición de que al menos uno de los restos Rb o Rc no sea hidrógeno; c) opcionalmente al menos un co-tensioactivo (T2); d) al menos un disolvente (L), que contiene al menos el 80 % en peso de agua; e) opcionalmente al menos otro componente (K); encontrándose el valor de pH de la composición en el intervalo de 0,5 a 5.
