Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide tablets which disintegrate rapidly in the mouth, leave behind a pleasant sensation in the mouth, are mechanically very stable, and provide high content uniformity.SOLUTION: A pharmaceutical formulation in the form of agglomerates comprises the following components A) and B): A) an excipient consisting of a) 60-97% by weight of sugar or sugar alcohols, b) 1-25% by weight of a disintegration agent, c) 1-15% by weight of water-insoluble, film-forming polymers, d) 0-15% by weight of water-soluble polymers, and e) 0-15% by weight of another pharmaceutically customary excipients, wherein the sum of the components a) to e) is 100% by weight; and B) at least one active ingredient.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a directly compressible ibuprofen formulation containing a) 50 to 99 percent by weight of crystalline ibuprofen, b) 1 to 15 percent by weight of a highly dispersible adjuvant having a minimum surface of 100 m/g, and c) 0 to 40 percent by weight of other adjuvants provided that the total quantity of components a) to c) amounts to 100 percent by weight, at least 50 percent of the surface of the ibuprofen crystals being coated with the highly dispersible adjuvant.
