Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide flame retardant polymer compositions that contain mixtures of melamine polyphosphates with layered silicates.SOLUTION: A composition comprises a) at least one polyphosphate salt of a 1,3,5-triazine compound of the formula (I) where T represents a 1,3,5-triazine compound and p represents a numeral greater than 3, b) at least one natural or synthetic phyllosilicate or a mixture thereof, c) a polymer substrate, and d) phenolic antioxidants.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a flame retardant composition, wherein the following components: a) At least one flame retardant component selected from the group consisting of phosphinic acid salts and nitrogen containing compounds; and b) At least one polymeric dispersing agent selected from the group consisting of styrenemaleic acid anhydride copolymers, long chain carboxylic acid salts and aliphatic polyether substituted by acidic groups; and c) A polymer substrate; are present.
Abstract:
The instant invention relates to a process for the preparation of star and block-copolymers, which are prepared by controlled free radical polymerization using epoxy-functionalized alkoxyamines and multifunctional compounds capable of reacting with the epoxy group.
Abstract:
The invention, relates to azo-compounds of formula (I), wherein >N—O—R substituted 2,2,6,6-tetraalkyl-piperidyl groups are present. These azo-compounds have excellent flame retardant properties, either if applied alone, or combined with other compounds, having flame retardant properties.
Abstract:
The invention relates to novel cyclic and open-chain hydroxylamine esters and polymerizable compositions comprising these hydroxylamine esters and an ethylenically unsaturated monomer or oligomer. The invention also relates to use as polymerization initiators and to the use of known hydroxylamine esters selected from the group consisting of HALS compounds and the novel hydroxylamine esters for the controlled degradation of polypropylene and for achieving a controlled increase in the molecular weight of polyethylene.
Abstract:
Novel liquid polymeric compounds of the formula (I) wherein the general symbols are as defined in claim 1, are disclosed as stabilizers for protecting organic materials against oxidative, thermal or light-induced degradation.
