Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing at least one nonvolatile microorganism metabolic product by performing micororganism-fertilization based on sugar.SOLUTION: In the method, a microorganism culture which produces a desired metabolic product is cultivated by using a sugar-containing liquid culture medium containing a monosaccharide content exceeding 20 wt.% on the basis of the total weight of the liquid culture medium, most of volatile components of fertilization liquids are removed, and the pickles are produced by (a1) a step of powdering a starch supply raw material selected from grains, and (a2) a step of liquefying the powdered material in an aqueous liquid under the existence of at least one starch liquefied enzyme, then saccharifying the material by using saccharified enzyme, adding a partial amount of a crushed raw material to the aqueous liquid continuously or in a batch manner, and performing the liquefaction. Related to a solid preparation of the obtained nonvolatile microorganism metabolic product, the method uses the solid preparation as an additive or a supplementary agent to the food of human beings or animals, or fabric, leather, cellose, paper, or for treating the surface the product.
Abstract:
The invention pertains to the field of reaction systems generating malodour, particularly from constituents of human sweat. Specifically, the invention pertains to proteins for generating malodours, substrates for generating such malodour, inhibitors of such malodour generation and test and screening systems for measuring their malodour inhibition efficacy and finding substances previously not known to inhibit malodour generation. Thus, the invention also pertains to the field of deodorants.

Abstract:
The present invention is concerned with microorganisms or fragments thereof as sensorically neutral oral care agents, particularly for prevention of dental calculus, as anti-caries agents and/or anti-oral malodor agents. The invention is furthermore concerned with compositions comprising microorganisms or fragments thereof for reducing mutans Streptococci. Such compositions can be used in oral care compositions, e.g. for caries prophylaxis, or for prophylaxis of dental calculus or oral malodor. They may also or instead be used for prevention or treatment of oral malodor. As the microorganisms and fragments thereof according to the present invention have a very low, unobtrusive smell and taste, they are particularly suited as sensorically neutral agents for preventment of dental calculus, caries, oral biofilm formation and/or for prevention or treatment of oral malodor. The microorganisms and fragments thereof, and also compositions comprising such microorganisms and fragments, can thus advantageously be used in food and feed compositions, particularly in pet foods. Furthermore, the invention is concerned with methods of preparing such microorganisms, fragments, compositions, foods and feeds.
