Abstract: What is proposed is a process for preparing polyether alcohols by reaction of one or more unsaturated starters having at least one active hydrogen atom per molecule with one or more alkylene oxides in the liquid phase, in the presence of a basic catalyst, in a reactor, which is characterized in that the metered addition of the one or more alkylene oxides into the reactor is effected in such a way that the concentration of unreacted alkylene oxide in the liquid reaction mixture in the reactor is increased as far as possible with increasing degree of addition of the alkylene oxide onto the starter, it being necessary at all times to meet the condition that the temperature at the end of a runaway reaction is at least 100 K below the onset temperature of the decomposition reaction of the liquid reaction mixture.

Abstract: Se propone un procedimiento para preparar poliéteralcoholes haciendo reaccionar en un reactor uno o varios iniciadores no saturados que tenga al menos un átomo de hidrógeno activo por cada molécula, con uno o varios óxidos de alquileno en fase líquida, en presencia de un catalizador básico, caracterizado porque el añadido dosificado de uno o varios óxidos de alquileno en el reactor se efectúa de tal manera que la concentración de óxido de alquileno sin reaccionar en la mezcla de reacción líquida dentro del reactor, al ir aumentando el grado de adicionamiento de óxido de alquileno al iniciador, se aumenta en todo lo posible, teniendo que cumplirse en todo momento la condición de que la temperatura al finalizar la reacción fuera de control se halle por lo menos 100 K por debajo de la temperatura de iniciación de la reacción de descomposición de la mezcla de reacción líquida.
