    Abstract: A tire assembly for a two-wheeled vehicle includes tires to be equipped on front and rear wheels, respectively. Each of the tires includes a carcass layer of organic fiber cords arranged at angles of substantially 80 DEG for the front wheel tire or 90 DEG for the rear wheel tire, and a belt layer of organic fiber cords arranged at angles of 5 DEG to 35 DEG . The belt layer of each of the tires consists of inner, intermediate and outer layers. With the front wheel tire, a width of the intermediate layer is narrower than that of the inner layer to form a step of substantially 10 mm on one side and a width of the outer layer is narrower than that of the intermediate layer to form a step of substantially 30 mm on one side. On the other hand, with the rear wheel tire, a width of the intermediate layer is wider than that of the inner layer and a width of the outer layer is wider than that of the intermediate layer to form steps of substantially 7 mm successively at one sides of the respective layers.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To restrain shimmy (vibration around a steering wheel) and chattering (vertical oscillation of wheels) from taking place by forming a cord of a carcass ply of a pneumatic tire by intertwining at least several bandles of organic fiber filaments. CONSTITUTION:A tire 1 for a motorcycle includes a pair of left and right sides walls 2, and a tread 3 in a convex form which is located between the both side walls 2 and 2 and can be elongated to the maximum width of WT. And both the side walls 2 and the tread 3 are reinforced by a carcass 4 where numbers of organic fiber plies are plied so as to allow their cords to intersect each other. In addition, a layer of a breaker is arranged in a crown section which is outside of the carcass 4 to reinforce the crown section. In this case, the cord 8 of the carcass ply is formed by intertwining at least 3 bandles of a number of organic fiber filaments.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a pneumatic tire, in which rigidity of side parts can be improved without adding a new reinforcing member and the flexibility is also provided in the side parts. CONSTITUTION:A pneumatic tire has at least one reinforcing layer 9 along the periphery of a carcass 7, which is formed by folding a small number of plies 3 of rubber-coated cord layer from the inside of a bead core 4 and a filler rubber 5 to the outside thereof so as to be overlapped with each other at a crown part 6. This reinforcing layer 9 is made of rubber-coated cord layer spirally wound, practically, arranged in parallel with a flat surface, which includes the circumference of a tire.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve safety and the like at high speed operation by setting one of belt layers of a front wheel tire, that is outside in the radial direction, narrower in width while one of belt layers of a rear wheel tire, that is outside in the radial direction, broader in width. CONSTITUTION:A radial tire 1 set on e.g., a front wheel of a motorbicycle has a pair of annular beads 3, two layer carcass 5 extending between the beads 3, 3, a belt layer 7 laminated at a crown area of carcass 5, a tread 8 covering the outside of the belt layer 7. This layer 7 is formed of three layers, i.e. an inner layer 7A, intermediate layer 7B, and outer layer 7C, from the carcass 5 side to the outside sequentially. In this case, e.g., the layer 7B arranged outside in the radial direction is set smaller in width than e.g., the layer 7A arranged similarly. It is thus possible to improve the rigidity of the belt layer so as to ensure safety and the like at brake operation as well as running operation.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To efficiently produce a pneumatic tire having a reinforcing layer free from a cord cross section at the end part in the lateral direction thereof without requiring the grounding space of production equipment. CONSTITUTION:A cord 20 is wound around the hooking pins 16 of expansion and contraction drums 14 in a zigzag pattern and the winding of the cord is repeated to make a round of a green case 36. Next, the expansion and contraction drums 14 are relatively rotated in reverse directions each other and contracted at an equal speed and also allowed to approach mutually to bond and fix the cord 20 to the outer periphery of the green case 36 under pressure. The cord 20 bonded to the outer periphery of the green case 36 becomes a belt. Since it is unnecessary to preliminarily prepare a belt, factory equipment is simplified and a cutter used in the production of the belt heretofore is not required.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve durability and rigidity, on a tire for a motor cycle, by using a polyvinylalcohl fibre, specific in strength and a twist coefficient, as a cord for a belt layer, and specifying a count and the twist coefficient in the crown center of the cord. CONSTITUTION:A carcass layer, a cord angle of which is 90-25 deg. against the equatorial face of a tire, is provided in plural number of layers, and a belt layer, a cord angle of which is 0-40 deg., is provided plurally as well. The belt layer is formed by a polyvinylalcohol fibre that satisfies a relational formula I being specific in the strength S and the twist coefficient NT of a cord taken from the belt layer. Additionally, when a count E per 5cm width is 70 or smaller in the crown center portion of the cord in the belt layer, the twist coefficient NT and the count E are set so as to satisfy a specific relational formula II. This constitution can improve the rigidity and the durability of the tire.
