Abstract: Flame retardant polyurethane foam having very good skin weldability and very low level of skin staining is produced from a polyhydroxy compound, organic polyisocyanate, blowing agent, catalyst, foam stabilizer, and flame retardant, and other additives, wherein the flame retardant contains a triaryl phosphate ester and the polyhydroxy compound is a mixture composed of 100 parts by weight of high-molecular-weight polyhydroxy compound having a hydroxyl number lower than 100 and 0.5 to 10 parts by weight of low-molecular-weight polyhydroxy compound having a hydroxyl number higher than 560 and having 2 to 4 hydroxyl groups in one molecule.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent water content from sticking directly on the resin part of polyurethane foam even if it is exposed to large quantities of water content and to prevent hydrolysis by impregnating a nonhydrophilic impregnating agent into polyurethane foam having the communicated foams. CONSTITUTION:An air cleaner element 2 is constituted of polyester series polyurethane foam having the communicated foams. A resin part 8 and many communicated foams 9 are incorporated in the inside of the structure. A liquid impregnating agent is impregnated for this polyurethane foam by an impregnating method. The impregnating agent introduced into the communicated foams 9 is stuck to the resin part 8 around the communicated foams 9 and the protective film layers 10 due to the impregnating agent are formed. As this impregnating agent, a nonhydrophilic material free from a hydrophilic compd. is used and both base oil and silicone oil are preferably used. In this air cleaner element, polyurethane is not hydrolyzed even in the environment incorporating large quantities of water content and the deterioration thereof can be prevented.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antibacterial flexible polyurethane foam having long- lasting high antibacterial properties by foaming a foam materials mixture contg. an inorg. antibacterial agent and a catalyst system comprising an org. amine alone or together with a tetravalent tin compd. or a specified amt. of a divalent tin compd. SOLUTION: A zeolite A power having an average particle size of 0.1-10μm is mixed with a mixed AgNO3 -Zn(NO3 )2 soln. and water to give a slurry, which is stirred at room temp. for about 6hr to subject it to ion exchange. Then, a zeolite phase is separated, washed with water to remove excess Ag ions and Zn ions, dried, and ground to give an inorg. antibacterial agent comprising a zeolite powder carrying 0.0006-4wt.% Ag ions and 0.04-14wt.% Zn ions. An antibacterial polyurethane foam is produced by mixing 100 pts.wt. polyol, 15-70 pts.wt. org. polyisocyanate, a blowing agent, 0.1-3 pts.wt. inorg. antibacterial agent, 0.1-10 pts.wt. org. amine (e.g. triethylenediamine), and 0.1-2 pts.wt. tetravalent tin compd. (e.g. dibutyltin dilaurate) under high-speed stirring and allowing the resultant mixture to foam and cure.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a foam having a high retentivity of an antibacterial activity and a high safety and being free of a fear of producing resistant bacteria, by using a foaming material comprising a polyol, an organic isocyanate, a catalyst, a blowing agent, an inorganic antibacterial agent and an organic amine. CONSTITUTION:This flexible polyurethane foam is produced from a foaming material comprising a polyol, an organic isocyanate, a catalyst and a blowing agent by adding an inorganic antibacterial agent to said foaming material and using either an organic amine or both an organic amine and a tin compound as said catalyst and a tetravalent tin compound or at most 1 pt.wt. bivalent tin compound per pt. wt. antibacterial agent as said tin compound. A desirable inorganic antibacterial agent is one comprising a metal ion such as a silver, copper or zinc ion and an antibacterial agent comprising metal ions such as silver, copper or zinc ions supported on zeolite can be used most desirably.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the title product having excellent buckling properties and causing no problem such as the generation of powder thereof when buckled, by simultaneously using a high-mol. wt. polyol and a low-mol. wt. polyol in a specific ratio therebetween and singly using a tert. amine as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:The objective product is provided by using (A) polyols comprising a high-mol. wt. polyol having a hydroxyl group value of =200 (preferably polyol having a mol. wt. of 200-800) in a weight ratio of 4:6-6:4, (B) an organic polyisocyanate, (C) a catalyst comprising a tert. amine along and (D) a foaming raw material containing a foaming agent. The high-mol. wt. polyol in the component A includes, e.g., the ethylene oxide adduct of propylene glycol. The low-mol. wt. polyol includes, e.g., the ethylene oxide adduct of glycerol.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the subject coating large in slipping friction resistance, namely high in safety even in rainy days or on frozen roads, and useful for road marks by adding powder rubber to a coating in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION: This coating, preferably a thermally meltable coating, is produced by adding 0.1-10 pts.wt. of powder rubber (preferably having a particle diameter of 0.1-2mm) to 100 pts.wt. of a coating. The powder rubber is preferably produced e.g. by removing organic fibers such as nylon fibers or polyester fibers or steel cords used as a reinforcing material from wasted tires, and subsequently mechanically grinding the left rubber. The coating preferably contains a polyamide resin, etc., as a skeleton resin, tale, etc., as a filler, and glass beads having a diameter of approximately 1mm, etc., as a light-reflecting material.
