Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a polymer foam suitable for various members for image-forming devices such as copying machines, facsimile machines, and printers and also provides a member, including a polymer foam manufactured by the method, for image-forming devices and a device, including the member, for forming an image. In a step of forming the polymer foam by allowing a polymer feedstock to foam and curing the feedstock, gas of which the solubility decreases with an increase in temperature is dissolved in the polymer feedstock, which is then heated, whereby the feedstock is allowed to foam and cured. Therefore, the polymer foam has a microcellular surface structure. Furthermore, a high-quality member, having superior surface properties, for image-forming devices can be achieved, and a device for forming an image can be achieved.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive endless belt, which can be manufactured without using a solvent, obtained inexpensively and has transfer performance, gloss and durability equivalent to those of the conventional polyimide belt. SOLUTION: The conductive endless belt used for an image forming apparatus has layered structure equipped with at least a base layer 101 and a surface layer 102 successively from an inner side, and a difference between a surface resistance value measured from the surface layer 102 side and a surface resistance value measured from the base layer 101 side is within four orders of magnitude. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polyurethane foam which is free from the generation of coarse cells and has a uniform and fine surface cellulose structure and further, can be best-suitably used for various roller members of an imaging device and the like and a method for manufacturing a polyurethane foam, and a method for manufacturing a high performance roller of a polyurethane foam. SOLUTION: The device for manufacturing a polyurethane foam is of such a structure that a mechanical stirring part 2 has a stirring rotary shaft 4 installed perpendicularly and a set of inflow passages 6 and 7 are installed in the upstream of the mechanical stirring part 2 and perpendicularly to the side face of the mechanical stirring part 2 and further, a discharge aperture 3 is provided below the stirring rotary shaft 4. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an elastic roller having a homogeneous and smooth surface suitable for members for an image-forming apparatus, with a short time and with high productivity. SOLUTION: In the case where a grinding process by plunge formula is applied to the outer surface of the elastic roller materials wherein an elastic body layer is formed on the outer periphery around a revolution central axis, the elastic roller with homogeneous and smooth surface is manufactured, by applying and oscillation grinding process using a polishing grind stone having a width of 0.9 to 1.3 times of the axial length of the elastic body layer.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner carrier with excellent toner followup ability, being free from lowering of an image density regardless of adopting over a long period, and to provide an image forming device adopting this toner carrier. SOLUTION: This toner carrier is, allowed to form the visual image by carrying the toner on a surface, forming a thin layer thereof, coming into contact with or close to the image forming body, and feeding the toner on the image forming body surface. In such a case, the toner carrier is composed by controlling peak count in the measuring length 2.5 mm to 10 to 30, and the toner carrier is provided with the conductive layer 3, and moreover the surface thereof is composed by grinding or polishing.

PURPOSE: To maintain a specified toner transporting rate or toner electrostatic charge quantity and to stably obtain high-grade images by specifying the nuclear depth roughness (Rk) stipulated in DIN4776 in the circumferential direction of a roller and the Rk ratio of the circumferential direction and axial direction of the roller on the surface of a conductive layer. CONSTITUTION: This developing roller 1 is constituted by forming the conductive layer 3 having an electrical conductivity on the outer periphery of a good conductive shaft 2. The nuclear depth roughness (Rk) stipulated in DIN4776 in the circumferential direction of the roller of the surface of this conductive layer 3 is 0.5 to 3.5μm and the Rk ratio of the circumferential direction and axial direction of the roller is the circumferential direction/axial direction > 0.1. A metallic shaft on which a mixture composed of various kinds of resins, etc., and conductive powder, magnetic powder, etc., or the shaft on which conductive resins, etc., are laminated and the surface of which is polished is usable as the conductive layer 3 when a photoreceptor and the developing roller 1 are contactless. On the other hand, a relatively soft elastic material is used for the need of a development nip when the photoreceptor and the developing roller 1 come into contact.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive elastic member for an image forming apparatus, capable of stably providing a uniform resistance with minimized environmental variation or current-carrying variation thereof; and to provide an image forming apparatus using the conductive elastic member. SOLUTION: The conductive elastic member for image forming apparatus is based on an elastomer which is obtained by blending lithium imide as an ion conductive material to an elastic resin material, and has a resistance value adjusted to 7-9 [logΩ]. As the elastic resin material, a polyurethane prepared by reacting and curing an isocyanate component and a polymer polyol component is used, wherein the polymer polyol component has a ratio of hydrophilic polymer/hydrophobic polymer of 20/80 to 30/70, and the polyurethane has a resistance of 11-13 [logΩ]. SOLUTION: The urethane roller wherein an elastic layer comprises a polyurethane material containing an oxidation inhibitor which composes principally of a polyol component and an isocyanate component in which the oxidation inhibitor includes a diphenylamine system compound, and the electrophotographic apparatus using thereof are provided.
