    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solar cell sealing material which is mainly formed of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, high in volume resistivity, and used as a laminated sealant. SOLUTION: When ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer which contains 30 wt.% vinyl acetate or below is used as solar cell sealing material, a solar cell module is improved in insulation even if it is sealed up with a thin layer of the above sealing material. Furthermore, two sheets of the solar cell sealing material are prepared, and a film formed of material other than ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer is sandwiched in between the solar cell sealing material sheets for the formation of a three-layered laminate more enhanced in volume resistivity.

SOLUTION: An air bag device comprises a bag-shaped air bag 1 and a module cover 6 with their peripheries attached to the vicinity of the periphery of a base plate 7 with its approximate center bored with an opening in which an inflater 5 is fitted. A safety valve 8 is disposed at an appropriate position on the base plate 7 so as to be opened with the action of a predetermined internal pressure of the air bag at the time of developing action of the air bag 1.

SOLUTION: Using a solar cell sealing material, obtained by adding an organic peroxide with a half-life at 140 deg.C being 30 minutes or less to an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer with a volume-specific resistance of 5.0×1014 Ωor more before bridging under heat, the insulating characteristics of a solar cell module is improved even for a thin layer. Thus, a current leakage from a solar cell is suppressed effectively.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding method and the arrangement of vent holes, which ensures reliable expansion in the air bag formed out of a thermoplastic film such as urethane excellent in stretchability and the like. SOLUTION: It is so constituted that this air bag is formed out of a thermoplastic film such as urethane excellent in stretchability and the like, and is provided with an opening 5 for an inflator bored roughly at the center, and with a plurality of vent holes 7 and 7 bored appropriately around the aforesaid opening. In this case, the air bag is folded in two steps, namely, the first half step where it is folded in at the first half folding lines L1 and L2 in the prescribed direction, and continuously the latter half step where it is folded in at the latter half folding lines L3 and L4 perpendicularly intersected with the first half folding lines L1 and L2 respectively. And the air bag is folded in so that a plurality of vent holes 7 and 7 are positioned at places adjacent to the latter half folding lines L3 and L4.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device and establish a manufacturing method for air bags, with which a pad cover can easily be mounted on a base plate and a sufficient strength can be secured while the structure remains simple and light by incorporating a simple mounting device for the pad cover onto the base plate. SOLUTION: An air bag device concerned is composed at least of an air bag 1 to protect an occupant in the event of collision, a base plate 3 on which a gas generator 2 for inflating the air bag 1 is installed, and a pad cover 4 which is fixed to the base plate 3 and accommodates the air bag 1, gas generator 2, etc. A locking groove 8 is furnished at the termination 5 of the pad cover 4, and the pad cover termination 5 is fastened pinchedly by the inner side surface 6 formed by bending part of the base plate 3 and the pad cover termination holding part 7a formed by further folding back the outer side surface 7 formed by folding back the mentioned inner side surface 6, wherein the pad cover termination holding part 7 is locked by the groove 8 in the pad cover 4.

CONSTITUTION: A manufacture of a module cover for housing an air bag made of at least a thermoplastic material and a filler and provided with a tear line comprises the steps of quantitatively feeding the thermoplastic material and the filler, respectively from the material feed part 4 of an injection molding device 2 in which a screw 7 is arranged in a heating tube 3, melting and kneading them and measuring the amount of them in the heating tube 3, and injecting the measured kneaded material of the thermoplastic material and the filler into a mold K for molding.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain solar battery sealing material, the main component of which is ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer with high volume resistivity. SOLUTION: In this solar battery sealing material, 1,1-bis(t-butylperoxy)-3,3,5- trimethylcyclohexane as organic peroxide, wherein half-life at 140 deg.C is at most 30 minutes, and triallylisocyanurate(TAIC) as crosslinking auxiliary agent are added in ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, wherein the content of vinyl acetate is 26-30 wt.%, and heating and crosslinking are performed. The volume resistivity, after crosslinked, is at least 3.0×1015 Ωcm. Insulating property of a solar battery module is improved in the case that the sealing material is used as a thin layer, so that leakage current from a solar battery is restrained effectively.

In this case, the cases 5 and 6 are joined and fixed by lap-joining the sides 5A and 5B of the case upper 5 and the sides 6A and 6B of the case lower 6 and inserting the inflator 3 passing through the sides 5A and 6A and the sides 5B and 6B of the cases 5 and 6.

SOLUTION: An air bag module 1 is provided with a case upper 2 for housing an air bag and a case lower 4 for housing an inflator 5. A side wall 2B of the case upper 2 is provided with a nearly linear projecting part 20B projected outside of the case upper 2 in the lateral direction at a central part in the vertical direction. In the case where an impact is applied, the projection part 20 is pushed for crash so as to improve the impact. In this case, the impact enters from a direction (a), and pushes the side wall 2B, but the projecting part 20B is deformed in the vertical direction. Namely, when 21B part and 22B part of both an upper and a lower ends of the side wall 2B come close to each other in the vertical direction, a tip 20B' of the projection part 20B is moved in the direction (b), and while absorb the impact.
