    Abstract: An aminium salt compound has the structure expressed by the following formula (I) or (II), and an optical recording layer has a recording layer containing the aminium salt compound. wherein X indicates a monovalent metal complex anion; and R1 through R8 each indicate a hydrogen atom or a monovalent organic residue, and at least one of R1 through R8 is a monovalent organic residue selected from the group consisting of a substituted or unsubstituted alkoxyalkyl group, substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group, substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl group and substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group; and n is 1 or 2; and wherein X indicates a monovalent metal complex anion; and R1' through R8' indicate the atoms that, when taken together in combination Rm' and Rm+1' (m = 1, 3, 5 or 7) with a nitrogen atom N, at least one of such combinations forms a substituted or unsubstituted five-membered ring, substituted or unsubstituted six-membered ring or substituted or unsubstituted seven-membered ring; and n is 1 or 2.

    Abstract: An optical recording medium has a space therein and is prepared such that a pair of substrates (1a, 1b) are partially adhered by an adhesive obtained by dispersing granular or filler type spacing members therein. At least one of the substrates (1a, 1b) has an optical recording layer (2a, 2b) thereon, the recording layer (2a, 2b) faces inside and a specific gravity of the spacing member falls within a range of 0.9 to 1.3 times that of the adhesive. When applying the adhesive to part of at least one of the substrates, a mixture of the spacing members and an adhesive is stored in a tank and is supplied in a small amount in each application cycle.
