The application of the above liquid composition on a recording medium allows the inhibition of the curling of the medium, while securing the good stability of discharge.
Abstract:
A curl reducing agent containing an amide compound having specified structure and molecular weight, an inkjet ink containing such an amide compound, an inkjet recording method for recording an image by ejecting such an ink, and a method for reducing curl of a recording medium employing such an ink. Variation in the shape of a sheet, i.e. curling phenomenon, occurring as time elapses after recording, especially when ink is imparted to the entire surface of a plain sheet, can be reduced without lowering the image quality.

Abstract:
An ink-jet ink, which comprises water, a coloring agent, a water-soluble organic compound (1) exhibiting the difference between a water retaining ability in a circumstance of a temperature of 23°C and a humidity of 45 % and a water retaining ability of 36 % or less in a circumstance of a temperature of 30°C and a humidity of 80 %, and a water-soluble organic compound (2) being a water-soluble organic compound except the water-soluble organic compound (1), wherein the content X (%) of the above water-soluble organic compound (1) is 10 mass % or more relative to the total amount of the ink-jet ink, and the content X (%) of the above water-soluble organic compound (1) and the content Y (%) of the above water-soluble organic compound (2) relative to the total amount of the ink-jet ink satisfy the relationship of the following formulae (I) and (II): (I) 0
Abstract:
This invention relates to an ink set which can form a colored area on a recording medium with a broad color reproduction range, excellent uniformity of the colors, with effective prevention of bleeding at the boundary between adjacent different color areas on a recording medium, and high rub-off resistance of the colored area. The ink set has separately an aqueous anionic or cationic ink containing a coloring material, and a liquid composition containing fine particles dispersed therein and electrically charged at the surface in a polarity opposite to the ink. The ink and the liquid composition are adjusted to give, when mixed at a mixing weight ration of about 1:1, a pH of the liquid mixture to cause aggregation of at least the coloring material.
Abstract:
An ink jet recording method and apparatus for performing recording by discharging ink onto a recording medium in accordance with recording data using a recording head having ink discharge ports for discharging the ink. The apparatus includes a scanning unit for scanning the recording head relative to the recording medium for discharging ink to record pixels on the recording medium, and a determining unit for determining whether the recording data includes non-discharge data for a predetermined number of successive pixels to be recorded by the recording head, and for generating a corresponding determination output signal. The apparatus further includes a control unit for controlling ink discharge in accordance with the determination output signal such that an amount of ink discharged for forming at least one pixel subsequent to the predetermined number of successive pixels is reduced from a predetermined recording amount, when the recording data is determined to include non-discharge data for the predetermined number of successive pixels.
