Abstract: In an image reading system having an image reading apparatus (101) for reading the image of a document and an information processing terminal (102) which receives the image data output by the image reading apparatus, the information processing terminal verifies the kind of operation performed at a control panel (205) of the image reading apparatus, calls an image reading module and instructs the image reading apparatus to perform an operation based upon the kind of operation. The image reading apparatus responds by reading the image of the document, and the information processing terminal accepts the image data obtained and stores the image data in a predetermined area of a hard disk. This makes it possible to operate the image reading system efficiently.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer the image data including the transmission instruction information necessary for the system operation to an information processor and to store the image data there by connecting the stored image data to the stored transmission instruction information and storing the connected image data in the information processor. SOLUTION: The transmission instruction sent from a user via an operation part 105 is received and this instruction information is stored in a work buffer of a RAM 103. Then it's checked whether or not an original is set on the original board of a read control part 107. If the original is not set, a message is shown on a display panel of the part 105 to urge the setting of the original and waits for it. If the original is set, the original is read and the read image data on the original are stored in an image memory 104. Then the transmission instruction information stored in the work buffer is connected to the image data stored in the memory 104, and the connected image data are transferred to a FAX server 118 via an I/F control part 115.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable transmission processing without troubling an operator by dividing data transmission into plural times of transmission when transmitting data which can not be stored in the memory of facsimile equipment altogether from information terminals at respective sections. SOLUTION: First of all, a data transfer instruction command is received, the contents of command are analyzed, the quantity of data to be transferred and the data whether the contents are on a page end block or a data end block are stored. Next, one block of an image memory 104 is secured. When it can be secured, data transfer processing is started and data are stored in the secured block of the image memory 104. When the secured memory block is full or data transfer is completed, next processing is started. When the transfer of data is finished, the data transferred result is reported to a FAX server 118. Afterwards, it is judged based on the stored information whether transfer is completed up to final data or not and when transfer is completed, processing is finished, but when transfer is not completed, processing is repeated from the beginning.
