Abstract:
A fiber optic cable slack management module includes a base defining a first cable management spool, an outer face of which is configured to contact cables when cables are pulled away from the base and a second cable management spool, within which the first cable management spool is located. An inner face of the second cable management spool is configured to contact cables when cables are in a relaxed, non-pulled state. The fiber optic cable slack management module defines a cable exit adjacent the first cable management spool and defined at least partially by the inner face of the second cable management spool, the cable exit defined by a channel positioned between the first and second cable management spools.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a telecommunications connector. The connector includes at least one connector portion including a front housing portion coupled to a rear housing portion. The front housing portion defines a front end and a rear end, the front housing portion including a ferrule terminating a cable fixed to the at least one connector portion, the front housing portion further including a latch that is configured to contact a fiber optic adapter for locking the connector to the fiber optic adapter when the connector is inserted into the fiber optic adapter, wherein the latch is movable about a connection location on the front housing portion. The latch defines a permanently attached rear extension that extends rearward past the rear end of the front housing portion, the rear extension configured to be contacted for moving the latch for freeing the connector from the fiber optic adapter.
Abstract:
A telecommunications system includes a telecommunications fixture including a fixture spool and at least one telecommunications module mounted to the telecommunications fixture. The telecommunications module is slidably movable between a retracted position and an extended position with respect to the telecommunications fixture. The telecommunications module includes a module spool that moves with the telecommunications module, wherein the module spool moves toward and away from the fixture spool as the telecommunications module slides with respect to telecommunications fixture. A cable that extends from the telecommunications fixture to the slidable telecommunications module is at least partially wrapped around both the fixture spool and the module spool when the module is in the retracted position.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a telecommunications connector. The connector includes at least one connector portion including a front housing portion coupled to a rear housing portion, the front housing portion being rotatable relative to the rear housing portion about a longitudinal axis, the front housing portion including a ferrule and a latch, the latch defining front and rear ends and being pivotable relative to the rest of the front housing portion at a connection portion. A boot mounted on the telecommunications connector is movable longitudinally relative to the rear housing portion, wherein the boot is configured to engage at least a portion of the latch of the front housing portion and cause the latch to pivot relative to the rest of the front housing portion as the boot is moved relative to the rear housing portion.
Abstract:
Fanout conduit arrangements, and systems and methods are provided to organize a plurality of optic fibers of an optic fiber cable. The arrangements include a fanout member having an inspection aperture arrangement therethrough, through which fibers can be inspected and a fixation media can be transferred to protect the fibers. Methods for assembling the fanout conduit arrangement are also provided.
Abstract:
A bladed chassis system facilitates installation of the bladed chassis system and replacement of the blades at the chassis. Blades can be inserted and removed from the front and/or the rear of the bladed chassis system at the discretion of the user. Blades can be moved between discrete positions. In examples, blades can be one-handedly released from the chassis to allow movement between discrete positions. In examples, accidental movement past a discrete position is inhibited. Accidental removal of the blades from the chassis is inhibited. The chassis and blades cooperate to manage the optical fiber cables routed through a cable port in the chassis to the blades.
Abstract:
A fiber optic telecommunications device includes a frame and a fiber optic module including a rack mount portion, a center portion, and a main housing portion. The rack mount portion is stationarily coupled to the frame, the center portion is slidably coupled to the rack mount portion along a sliding direction, and the main housing portion is slidably coupled to the center portion along the sliding direction. The main housing portion of the fiber optic module includes fiber optic connection locations for connect- ing cables to be routed through the frame. The center portion of the fiber optic module includes a radius limiter for guiding cables between the main housing portion and the frame, the center portion also including a latch for unlatching the center portion for slidable movement. Slidable movement of the center portion with respect to the rack mount portion moves the main housing portion with respect to the frame along the sliding direction.
