A connector with a capacitively coupled connector interface for interconnection with a mating portion with a sidewall. A connector body has an outer conductor coupling surface at an interface end covered by an outer conductor dielectric spacer. The outer conductor coupling surface is dimensioned to seat spaced apart from the sidewall by the outer conductor dielectric spacer when the connector body and the mating portion are in an interlocked position. A releasable retainer may be provided the releasable retainer dimensioned to secure the connector body and the mating portion in the interlocked position.

A connector with a capacitively coupled connector interface for interconnection with a female portion is provided with an annular groove with a sidewall open to an interface end of the female portion. A male portion is provided with a male outer conductor coupling surface at an interface end covered by an outer conductor dielectric spacer. A waveguide path between the male outer conductor coupling surface and the female portion while in the interlocked position extends from the outer conductor dielectric spacer to an exterior of the interconnection through an S bend in a radial direction to improve RF isolation. The male outer conductor coupling surface is dimensioned to seat spaced apart from the sidewall by the outer conductor dielectric spacer within the annular groove when the male portion and the female portion are in an interlocked position.

A seal for a cable and connector interconnection includes a unitary elastic body with a bore therethrough. The bore is provided with a cable outer diameter seal portion at a cable end, the cable outer diameter seal portion adjacent a connector cavity portion, the connector cavity portion adjacent a coupling nut cavity portion, and the coupling nut cavity portion adjacent a connector neck seal portion with a bulkhead seal at a connector end. The coupling nut cavity portion is longitudinally aligned with a coupling nut of the connector and is provided with a greater inner diameter than the cable outer diameter seal portion and the connector neck seal portion. The bulk head seal is provided with an outer diameter greater than an outer diameter of the connector neck seal portion.

A connection interface with a female portion for interconnection with a conductive male portion or a capacitive coupling male portion interface provides conductive coupling when interconnected with the conductive male portion and capacitive coupling when coupled with the capacitive coupling male portion. The female portion may include a spring basket dimensioned to receive a pin of the conductive male portion and to seat within a socket of the conductive male portion, separated by an inner conductor dielectric spacer.

A coaxial connector for interconnection with a coaxial cable with a solid outer conductor by friction welding is provided with a monolithic connector body with a bore dimensioned for an interference fit with an outer diameter of the outer conductor. A friction groove may be formed around the leading end of the outer conductor by application of a friction weld support against the inner diameter and leading end of the outer conductor. The friction groove may include a material chamber formed between a radial friction protrusion of the bore and a bottom of the friction groove. The friction weld support may be provided with ceramic surfaces contacting the outer conductor, a stop shoulder dimensioned to abut a cable end of the bore and/or an elastic insert seated within an inner conductor bore.
