Abstract:
An ostomy system for receiving bodily waste comprises a gas impermeable outer bag and a water impermeable inner bag (100) enclosed within the outer bag, as well as a coupling system (104) for attaching the bag to the body of a patient and for securing the outer bag in relation to the inner bag. The coupling system defines an orifice to enable bodily waste to be received by the inner bag and comprises a barrier for preventing liquids and solid particles from passing from the inner bag to the outer bag, at least part of the barrier being permeable to flatus gasses. The barrier may be in the form of a foam (110). The outer bag comprises an outlet with a flatus filter releasing flatus gasses from the outer bag. An inner bag is provided, which maintains its physical integrity, e.g. its buoyancy upon immersion in water.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an ostomy device with an adhesive wafer for attachment to a skin surface of a user and a collecting bag for collecting output from a stoma. The collecting bag is connected to the adhesive wafer, and the adhesive wafer has a through-going hole for accommodating the stoma of the user. The adhesive wafer includes a backing layer, a first switchable adhesive composition, a second adhesive composition, and a release liner. The first adhesive is contained in a recess in the device. The first switchable adhesive composition comprises a polymer and a switch initiator, and can be switched from a first liquid state to a second adhesive state by activation of the switch initiator.

Abstract:
It is an object of the invention to provide an adhesive element having an adhesive surface showing adhesive properties for adhering to a substrate wherein at least a part of the surface has been treated, resulting in alteration of the surface properties of the heat treated part of the surface. By heat treatment it is possible to provide an adhesive surface having parts showing different colour, water absorption properties, and/or adhesive properties.
