Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently carry out stabilization of a polyacetal subjected to oxidative decomposition and obtain a high-quality molding material, by mixing the polyacetal with a specific sterically hindering phenol ester of dialkylene glycol in an acting amount. SOLUTION: A polyacetal such as polyoxymethylene is mixed with preferably 0.05-2wt.% (based on polyacetal) sterically hindering phenol ester of dialkylene glycol represented by the formula to stabilize the polyacetal subjected to oxidative decomposition according to ordinary method.

Abstract: A formed metal solid-bed catalyst, consisting entirely of catalyst alloy (and possibly promoters) with a total pore vol. of 0.1-0.6 ml/g and with a surface shell 0.1-2.0 mm thick which is activated by complete or partial leaching of an extractable alloy component (I). Also claimed is a process for the production of thE catalyst . Preferably the catalyst metal is nickel, cobalt, copper and/or iron, and component (I) is aluminium, zinc or silicon. The catalyst may also contain up to 15 wt% chromium, iron, cobalt, tantalum, molybdenum and/or titanium as promoters.
