Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent undesirable fusing of a dehydrated substance and to obtain an anhydride product by passing sodium sulfate having a specified water content through a device, continuously raising the temp. of the device from the entrance to the exit, and maintaining low pressure. SOLUTION: Sodium sulfide having 35 to 45% water content, especially 38 to 40% is carried by mixing and passing through a device. The temp. of the Na2 S hydrate supplied to the device (product temp.) is continuously increased in such a manner that the temp. is about 20 deg.C at the supply position of the solid and >180 deg.C at the exit of the solid. At the same time, low pressure as =90 min residential time in the drying device.
