    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply aspiration impact and quickly separate an excess coating dispersion from air current used for aspirating and releasing a catalyst support by vertically orienting a cylindrical axis, supplying a prescribed amount of a coating dispersion to the upper end face of the support from a storage container, passing the dispersion through flow routes by aspiration, removing the excess coating dispersion from the flow routes by opening the flow routes in aspirating condition, turning back the excess dispersion to the storage container, and firmly fixing the dispersion coating by firing. SOLUTION: Flow routes of a catalyst support are coated by passing a coating dispersion at 0.1-1 m/s flow rate by aspiration, removing the excess coating dispersion from the flow routes by applying aspiration impact from a lower side on completion of the passing of the dispersion by aspiration while controlling aspirating air flow rate at 40-1 m/s through the flow routes and removing the excess coating dispersion discharged together with the air flow from the air flow in less than 100 ms after discharge out of the catalyst support.
