Abstract: The invention relates to a moulding material containing the following components: I. 50 to 99.98 weight parts of thermoplastic polyester, II. 0.02 to 5 weight parts of a copolymer containing polysiloxane blocks and polyester blocks, III. 0 to 49.98 weight parts of additional additives selected from other polymers, filling materials and pigments, anti-static agents, reinforcement materials and stabilisers. The total of all of the weight parts is equal to 100. Said moulding material is used in the production of metallized moulding parts.

Abstract: The joint system to bond a tube to another assembly, such as to connect a fuel line to a tank, is of two materials with different swelling characteristics. The material with the stronger swelling behaviour has a projecting lip round the joint, which is wholly covered by the material with a lower swelling action, giving a shaped lock fit between them. The material with stronger swelling is a thermoplastic such as polyethylene or an elastomer, and the other material is a thermoplastic or metal. Also claimed is a mfg. process using a twin-component or two-stage injection moulding.
