Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide partially hydrophobic precipitated silicic acid suitable as a carrier for functional substances sensitive to hydrolysis. SOLUTION: This partially hydrophobic precipitated silicic acid is produced by blending an hydrophobicity agent with precipitated silicic acid suspension in a short duration time at low pH value, by the solid-liquid separation through filtration, by washing the solid so as for it to include salts and by drying it, followed by heat treatment and then by grinding the heat-treated solid. The partially hydrophobic precipitated silicic acid has 10-49% wettability in methanol and >250 g/100 g DBP absorption (moisture-free) or 1-12 μm average particle diameter and/or 0.3-1.85% carbon content and/or 2.6-10.0% loss on drying and/or 5.5-10.0 pH value and is applicable to a functional substance formulated product, a formulated product of a functional substance sensitive to hydrolysis and a defoaming agent.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide partially hydrophobic precipitated silicic acid, a method for producing the silicic acid and a formulation for the use of the silicic acid as a carrier for an active substance sensitive to hydrolysis and for the use of the silicic acid in a defoaming agent. SOLUTION: A hydrophobicity imparting agent and a suspension of precipitated silicic acid are mixed in a short retention time at a low pH and the solid is separated by filtration, washed to a salt-free state, dried, heat-treated and comminuted to produce the objective partially hydrophobic precipitated silicic acid having 10-49% methanol wettability, >250 g/100 g DBP(dibutyl phthalate) absorption (anhydrous) or 1-12 μm average particle diameter and/or 0.3-1.85% carbon content and/or 2.6-10.0% drying loss and/or pH 5.5-10.0. This partially hydrophobic precipitated silicic acid can be used in an active substance formulation, in an active substance formulation of a substance sensitive to hydrolysis and in a defoaming agent.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a partially hydrophobic precipitated silicate, usable in an active matter-formulated body, in an active matter-formulated body in which the active matter is sensitive to hydrolysis and in a defoaming agent. SOLUTION: This partially hydrophobic precipitated silicate is produced by mixing a hydrophobicity-imparting agent and a precipitated silicate suspension in a short retention time at a low pH value, filtering and separating solids, washing the separated solid until it becomes free from salts, and drying, heating and pulverizing the washed solid. The obtained silicate has a methanol wetting factor of 10-49%, and it optionally has a DBP-absorption (anhydrous) of a larger than 250g/100g or an average particle diameter of 1-12μm and/or a carbon content of 0.3-1.85% and/or a loss on dry of 2.6-10.0% and/or a pH value of 5.5-10.0.
