Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that the thickeners used for RTV one-component system silicone rubber include silicas and in view of the sensitivity to hydrolysis of the silicone sealants, these silicas must introduce as little moisture as possible into the system, thus using fumed silicas almost exclusively to date for such application and besides, hydrophilic precipitated silicas have not been used to date on account of their high moisture content. SOLUTION: There are provided the precipitated silicas having an SiOH-isolated absorbance ratio equal to or greater than 1 and characterized in that its silanol group density is 0.5-3.5 SiOH/nm 2 . PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding method, which is energy-efficient as much as possible, which brings the pollution reduction of a crushed material compared with crushing using a mechanical mill, improves the particle size distribution of the crushed material, and enables the execution of surface modification of the crushed material during crushing. SOLUTION: In order to form minute particles using a jet mill 1, a crushing gas has a pressure of ≤4 bar (absolutely) and a temperature lower than 100°C. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide hydrophilic precipitated silica which is especially suitable as a thickening agent and reinforcing agent in an elastomer mixture, in particular, in an RTV type one-component-based silicone rubber formulation. SOLUTION: The hydrophilic precipitated silica is characterized by having following physicochemical parameters: an equilibrium water content (at relative humidity (r.F) of 70%/20°C) of 0.5-5.0 mass%, a BET surface area of 50-250 m 2 /g, a CTAB surface area of 50-250 m 2 /g, and a DBP (anhydrous) absorption of 200-350 g/100g. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a precipitated silica having improved DBP absorption. SOLUTION: This precipitated silica has a pH value of 3 to 8, a BET surface area of 400 to 600 m /g, a DBP absorption of 380 to 420 g/100 g, a bulk density of 100 to 200 g/L and a residue on ALPINE sieve with >63 μm size of 0.1 to 40%, and the method for producing the precipitated silica comprises the steps of (a) adding water and sulfuric acid simultaneously within at least 100 minutes to an aqueous material heated at 35 to 45 deg.C under shear by agitation maintaining the pH value of 6 to 7, wherein the addition is intermitted for 60 to 120 minutes, and the solid concentration is adjusted to 36 to 42 g/L upon completion of the addition, (b) filtering the solid and washing the filtered cake, and (c) drying the solid in a short time.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide precipitated silicic acid which is improved in applied technology characteristics, especially, in "knockdown" and "holddown" characteristics in a composition of a defoaming agent. SOLUTION: The hydrophobic precipitated silicic acid is hydrophobic alkaline precipitated silicic acid and has following physico-chemical parameters: BET 2 /g, CTAB 2 /g, BET/CTAB-ratio 3.1%, and pH value >9. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing hydrophobic precipitated silica. SOLUTION: a) A mixture of organopolysiloxane derivative and precipitated silica is manufactured; b) the conditioning of the mixture is performed at 10-150 deg.C for 5-72 hours; c) oxidation heating is performed using oxidation gas at a high temperature of >300 deg.C. Thereby the precipitated silica is obtained which is covalent bonded with carbon in a compounded material of a silicone rubber, and having a high load factor, low moisture absorbance, low thickening function, good strengthening performance, and moreover high whiteness.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide partially hydrophobic precipitated silicic acid suitable as a carrier for functional substances sensitive to hydrolysis. SOLUTION: This partially hydrophobic precipitated silicic acid is produced by blending an hydrophobicity agent with precipitated silicic acid suspension in a short duration time at low pH value, by the solid-liquid separation through filtration, by washing the solid so as for it to include salts and by drying it, followed by heat treatment and then by grinding the heat-treated solid. The partially hydrophobic precipitated silicic acid has 10-49% wettability in methanol and >250 g/100 g DBP absorption (moisture-free) or 1-12 μm average particle diameter and/or 0.3-1.85% carbon content and/or 2.6-10.0% loss on drying and/or 5.5-10.0 pH value and is applicable to a functional substance formulated product, a formulated product of a functional substance sensitive to hydrolysis and a defoaming agent.
