    Abstract: There are prepared compounds of the formula [Rn1(R2O)3-n-Si-Alk-S-]xZ(I) where Z is 3BOND PO, 3BOND PS, 3BOND P, =PR, -P(R)2, -P(OR)2, =P(OR), -PO(OR)2, -PS(OR)2, =PO(OR) or =PS(OR) where R is an alkyl group of 1 to 5 carbon atoms, phenyl or o-, m- or p-nitrophenyl; Alk is an alkylene group with 2 to 4 carbon atoms; R1 is an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, benzyl or phenyl; R2 is an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group having 5 to 8 carbon atoms, phenyl, benzyl or 2-methoxyethyl, each R1 and R2 can have the same or different meanings; n is 0, 1 or 2; and, x is 1, 2 or 3, being the residual valence of Z. The compounds are useful as reinforcing agents in vulcanizable rubber mixtures which contain a silicate filler and optionally carbon black.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a process for the production of sulphur containing organo silicon compounds corresponding to the general formula (1) Z - Alk - Sx - Alk - Z in which Z represents the group , , or in which R1 represents an alkyl group with a linear or branched chain containing I to 4 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl radical with 5 +.. 6 carbon atoms, the phenyl radical or an amino group of the formulae -NH2, -NHR3 or -NR3R4R3 and R4, which may be the same or different, represent alkyl groups with a linear or branched chain containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl radicals with 5 to 8 carbon atoms or the phenyl radical and R2 represents an alkoxy group with a linear or branched carbon chain with 1 to 8 carbon atoms, z cycloalkoxy group with 5 to 8 carbon atoms or the phenoxy group, each of R1 and R2 being the same er different, Alk represents a divalent. hydrocarbon radical with a linear or branched carbon chain with 1 to 10 carbon atoms and which may be interrupted once or twice by -O-, -S- or - NH -, and x is a number from 2.0 to 6.0, which comprises reacting compounds corresponding to the general formula (II) Z - Alk - SH with elemental sulphur. The products, some of which are novel are useful with particular advantage as rubber additives, for example in rubber mixtures containing silica-like pigments of fillers such as, for example, silicates, silicas themselves, silicate glass products.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a metallic screen cloth system, which can be used as a filter for dust aerosols and/or as a support matrix for catalysts in exhaust gas purifying equipment of internal combustion engines. This system comprises superposed corrugaged or concentrina layers of screen cloth which alternate with flat layers of sheet metal or screen cloth and are piled so as to form a stack of permeable to gas or wound spirally as a coiled body permeable to gas. On its opposite front ends the parcel or the coiled body is closed by cover means such that a closed front end portion lies opposite an open front end portion so that exhaust gas entering at open front end portions is forced to pass over the entire length of the matrix through the screen cloth meshes into channels assigned to an open opposite front end portion.
