Abstract: Mercaptosilanes with 9-30C alkoxy as well as methoxy and/or ethoxy substituents are new. Mercaptosilanes with 9-30C alkoxy as well as methoxy and/or ethoxy substituents and of formula RO-Si(R1O)2-R2-SH (I) or R1O-Si(RO)2-R2-SH (II) are new when R1 is a mixture and the content of one component in the mixture is 10-50 mol.%. R = methyl or ethyl; R1 = 9-30C alkyl; and R2 = optionally unsaturated aliphatic and/or aromatic 1-30C hydrocarbylene An Independent claim is also included for preparation of the mercaptosilanes.
