PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicon dioxide powder displaying a good thickening action combined with a short incorporation time into polymers and good dispersibility in the polymers, particularly silicone polymers. SOLUTION: The silicon dioxide powder is pyrogenically produced in the form of aggregates of primary particles having a BET surface area of 150±15 m 2 /g, wherein the aggregates display an average surface area of 12,000 to 20,000 nm 2 , an average equivalent circle diameter (ECD) of 90 to 120 nm and an average circumference of 1,150 to 1,700 nm, and the powder is produced by a pyrogenic process. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a pure-phase crystalline, micro- and mesoporous metallic silicate having high catalyst activities by carrying out the hydrothermal reaction using a pyrolytic metal-silicon mixed oxide as a source for silicon and a metal. SOLUTION: A pyrolytic metal-silicon-mixed oxide, preferably (SiO2 )1-x (TiO2 )x , (SiO2 )1-x (Al2 O3 )x , (SiO2 )1-x (B2 O3 )x , (SiO2 )1-x (V2 O5 )x or (SiO2 )1-x (ZrO2 )x [(x) is 0.0001-0.25] is used as a source for silicon and a metal and the hydrothermal reaction is carried out in the presence of a tetraalkylammonium hydroxide compound as a template compound at 0.05-2.0 molar ratio of OH /SiO2 . The hydrothermal reaction is conducted at 1-200 molar ratio of the H2 O/SiO2 at 100-220 deg.C temperature in the case of producing a microporous metallic silicate and 25-200 deg.C temperature in the case of producing a mesoporous metallic silicate for 1-50hr. The template compound is removed by extraction or calcining at 300-1,000 deg.C.

SOLUTION: The silicone rubber composition comprises 0.5-60 mass% hydrophobic silica having a carbon content of >3.1%, a methanol wetness of >60%, a reflectance of >94%, a BET/CTAB ratio of >1 and 2 /g, a CTAB surface area of >30 m 2 /g, a water vapor absorption at 30°C under 30RH of n SiR 3-n -O-[SiR 2 O] x -SiR 3-n -Z' n (wherein the variations are as defined in Claims), and therefore, the following effect is obtained: in vulcanizing a silicon rubber, a high reinforcing effect as well an extraordinary low water absorption, a high whiteness and a high accurate control can be attained, and further, a storage stable rheological property can also be attained. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the stability of a polymer against the actions of heat and flame by adding, to a polymer prior to or during processing, iron oxide- containing titanium dioxide having a specific amount of iron oxide and obtained by thermal decomposition. SOLUTION: The iron oxide-containing titanium dioxide having an iron oxide content of 0.05 to 50 wt.% and obtained by thermal decomposition is added to a polymer. As the polymer, there is used a silicone rubber, a silicone oil, a synthetic rubber and/or natural rubber, or a rubbery resin. The iron oxide- containing titanium dioxide may be added to the polymer prior to crosslinkage, or during vulcanization or during crosslinkage. The iron oxide-containing titanium dioxide should preferably be one, which is described in the specification of European Patent No. 0509533. The iron oxide-containing titanium dioxide obtained by thermal decomposition is generally added in an amount of 0.05 to 20 wt.% of the polymer.

Mikro- und mesoporöse Metallsilicate werden durch hydrothermale Umsetzung einer Quelle für Silicium und das Metall in Gegenwart eines Templats hergestellt. Die Rohstoffauswahl beeinflußt die Reinheit und damit die katalytische Aktivität der Produkte. Erfindungsgemäß wird als Quelle für Silicium und das Metall ein pyrogenes Mischoxid eingesetzt. Bevorzugte Produkte haben die Zuammensetzung (SiO2)1-x(AmOn)x mit A gleich Ti, Al, B, V, Zr und x gleich 0,005 bis 0,1. Bei Verwendung eines Formkörpers des pyrogenen Mischoxids werden unmittelbar Formkörper der mikro- und mesoporösen Metallsilicate erhalten. Erfindungsgemaß erhältliche Produkte werden als Oxidationskatalysator verwendet.
